Heja, the Swedish success continues

Marwe is the cooperation partner with the Swedish Biathlon Union and its national and other teams. The Swedish team has among others 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic winners and world Champions Hanna Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson on its roster. Success in the form of new world championships and podium placements have continued during this season 2020-21., as we are only one year ahead of the next Olympic in Beijing 2022.

Not only that, the biathlon season for these athletes finishes on home soil in Östersund, at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon event on the 16th to 27th March 2021.

Dark clouds gather, but..

The national teams coach, 27-year old German Johannes Lukas was injured after tripping on stairs just two weeks before the Pokljuka championships. Hence, that, Johannes managed to get himself to Slovenia to see and enjoy the fruits of the success of hard and even painful preparation literally for the whole team.

Martin Ponsiluoma was the most pleasantly surprising Swedish biathlete in Pokljuka, surprising everyone by a perfect performance, winning the 10 km sprint, and once he got started, getting onto the podium winning silver in the relay and a bronze medal in the mixed relay. Martins’s father is Finnish-born cross-country skier Jyrki Ponsiluoma, who participated in the 1992 Albertville Olympics.
